“Only those who burn themselves can ignite.“
I was born on 5 April 1985 in Prague. Architecture, urban planning, history and Prague, which construction development and breath-taking charm influenced me greatly, became the love and focus of my life. I graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague, Major in Architecture and Urbanism, and from 2011 to 2015, I have worked as an architect and designer in the studio of Jakub Cigler Architekti. In the meantime, during my studies I began to organise educational tours, offering non-traditional view of Prague, its constructional and historical development, neglected monuments or the retreating form through old photographs and plans. In the course of time, this leisure activity has become my full-time job. The tours have developed into lectures, trips, articles, exhibitions, and other activities. I began to collaborate with a number of public institutions, private companies and civil initiatives. I found my place and my way.
Within these activities, I try to look to the future and to arouse public interest in the urban space and its shaping. At the same time, I consider it important to be inspired by the past, because through the past it is possible to understand the causes of the present state and subsequently affect the state of the future. Equally important is to know and understand the broader context of the time, place and situation of the society. Nothing arises in isolation and everything has its links. Understanding of these means to stay on top of things. Keeping your eyes open and noticing things around you. Communicating these to other people, and having the determination to change the seemingly immutable. Believing in the power of civil society, have an active and positive approach to be able to search for compromise. Believing in the power of civil society, to have an active and positive approach and to be able to make compromise. In my opinion, this is how to succeed.
In my free time I like to travel around our beautiful country as well as abroad. For me, it is important to explore different landscapes, cities and culture in order to take a detached view. I also like photography, culture, art and sports (as relax). I collect old photographs and plans of Prague as I am trying to maintain and expand my book collection about Prague, architecture and art. I like wine and good meal.
